Who is JOBMOBILITY for?

JOBMOBILITY IN A NUTSHELL

JOBMOBILITY is a web-based EUROPEAN, CROSS-NATIONAL VOCATIONAL EDUCATION and CAREER COUCHING SCHEME for young participants in EUMATCHING and EDUMATCHING projects run by EUCONTACT. JOBMOBILITY benefits the participants as they start their lifelong education and work journey, allowing them to get to know the CROSS-BORDER opportunities of the SINGLE EUROPEAN MARKET, as EUROPEAN LABOUR MARKET, in conjunction with comprehensive employment, training, further education and mobility opportunities in EUROPE.

TARGET GROUP

The target group of the web-based JOBMOBILITY TRAINING MODULES are exclusively vocational students, in their last year of vocational education, undertaken in VET/FET Colleges, based in structurally weakly-developed EU regions, at least 18 years of age, on the verge of completing either an EUMATCHING or an EDUMATCHING project, embedded within the framework of qualification-specific vocational training courses, provided by such VET/FET Colleges.

Why JOBMOBILITY?

CURB YOUTH UNEMPLOYMENT AND SEGMENTED POVERTY

On the one hand, this scheme is intended to reduce, in structurally weakly developed EU-regions, young people´s risk of long-term unemployment and segmented poverty resulting therefrom.
On the other hand, the integration, participation and access to welfare of young people, with a SECTOR-SPECIFIC, VOCATIONAL education, shall be promoted by means of a bespoke MATCHING with employers/companies based in structurally strongly-developed EU-regions, on grounds of the FREE MOVEMENT OF CITIZENS IN EUROPE and EU LABOUR MARKET.

PROFESSIONAL AND FINANCIAL OPPORTUNITIES IN THE SINGLE EUROPEAN MARKET

Within the framework of a web-based course program, lasting for several months, embedded in a EUMATCHING or EDUMATCHING project, JOBMOBILITY conveys to its target group information on the EUROPEAN professional and financial opportunities, available in the SINGLE EUROPEAN MARKET, as EUROPEAN LABOR MARKET and EUROPEAN EDUCATIONAL AREA, against the background of unavailable or poorly-paid jobs in their respective European country of origin and the therefrom resulting significant RISK OF POVERTY.

Hence, within the framework of the JOBMOBILITY Training Course Programme, the project participants are presented with the vocational education and career coaching opportunities in the SINGLE EUROPEAN MARKET, as EU LABOUR MARKET, otherwise very poorly known, both at national, as well as European level.

JOBMOBILITY is a web-based training opportunity on EUROPEAN, CROSS-NATIONAL VOCATIONAL and CAREER COACHING, which is generally not provided by Vocational/Further Education and Training Colleges (VET/FET Colleges) in structurally weakly-developed EU regions.

TRANSITION FROM EDUCATION TO WORK, AT CROSS-NATIONAL LEVEL, IN THE EU

The aim of the JOBMOBILITY scheme is to enable its course participants to make a smooth and timely transition from a school-based vocational education, provided in a EU region, weakly-developed from a structural point of view to the EUROPEAN LABOR MARKET, in a structurally well-developed EU region, by a CROSS-NATIONAL approach, WITHOUT financial and social RISKS.

This is intended to enable young people, coming from structurally weakly-developed EU regions, to find a job, timely and WITHOUT commercial recruitment agents, financial risk or debt load, with companies based in structurally well-developed EU regions, job that matches, is aligned with their school-based vocational education and training, in compliance with EUROPEAN SOCIAL STANDARDS,

Employment shall commence TIMELY on grounds of an Employment Contract and appropriate Salary at the respective Company, based in a structurally well-developed EU – region.

Commencing with the Vocational Education and Career Coaching and until liaising with Companies based in structurally well-developed EU regions, provided through JOBMOBILITY, as part of the EUMATCHING or EDUMATCHING project schemes, the young project participants, on grounds of their school-based vocational qualification, obtained in a structurally weakly-developed EU region, are supported in leading a self-determined and self-financed life in the SINGLE EUROPEAN MARKET, based on the principles of CITIZENS´ FREE MOVEMENT IN THE EU, thus reducing their RISK OF POVERTY.

JOBMOBILITY is a web-based TRAINING OPPORTUNITY on EUROPEAN VOCATIONAL EDUCATION and CAREER COACHING for participants in EUMATCHING and EDUMATCHING PROJECTS.

JOBMOBILITY Webinars for VET/FET Colleges, VET/FET Students and their Parents

The JOBMOBILITY platform of EUCONTACT offers, when and as necessary, DEMAND-ORIENTED, JOBMOBILITY WEBINARS (online seminars via ZOOM or MSTEAMS) on the thematic priorities outlined below, to Partner–VET/FET Colleges from structurally weakly-developed regions in Europe, to their Vocational Students (and Parents), participating in EUCONTACT’s EUMATCHING and EDUMATCHING projects:

  • EUROPEAN FREE MOVEMENT OF CITIZENS;
  • Possibility of CROSS-NATIONAL WORK PLACEMENTS in Companies with a shortage of young people + skilled workers, based in structurally developed EU regions;
  • INTERCULTURAL TRAINING in the context of CROSS-NATIONAL WORK PLACEMENTS – Workplace mentality, cultural differences between Project Participants, coming from structurally weakly-developed EU regions and Companies (struggling with young talent + skills shortage), based in structurally well-developed EU regions;
  • PROFILING of Project Participants – Identification of strengths and aspects to be improved in the context of soft skills (e.g. “How to give my best shot in a job interview?”)
  • Preparation for and TRAINING on “JOB INTERVIEWS” with Companies based in structurally well-developed EU regions in a cross-national context;
  • Fostering INTERCULTURAL COMPATIBILITY between job opportunities, offered by Companies based in structurally well-developed EU regions and Project Participants (vocational students and recent VET graduates), originating from structurally weakly-developed EU regions.

Participation in the JOBMOBILITY WEBINARS on thematic TRAINING modules is only possible on grounds of an invite by EUCONTACT, following a Cooperation Agreement with the Partner-VET/FET College, and exclusively within the framework of ongoing EUMATCHING and EDUMATCHING projects.

VET/FET Colleges not yet in a partnership relationship with EUCONTACT, but interested in its EUMATCHING and EDUMATCHING projects, can apply, respectively get in touch with EUCONTACT (at “contact@jobmobility.eu“).

The JOBMOBILITY WEBINARS can be held for both GROUPS of vocational students/recent graduates of a Partner-VET/FET College, as well as for INDIVIDUALS – individual participants – (1:1 individual sessions with a vocational student/graduate, for example within the framework of Project Participants´ PROFILING, but always solely in the context of participating in an ongoing EUMATCHING or EDUMATCHING project.

JOBMOBILITY WEBINARS are vocational qualification-specific, for selected, mainly technical vocational qualifications/VQs & occupations at non-academic level (for STEM VQs & OCCUPATIONS AND for BLUE COLLAR JOBS), but always solely in the context of participating in an ongoing EUMATCHING or EDUMATCHING project, run by EUCONTACT.

JOBMOBILITY, by means of web-based course modules, presents Participants in EUMATCHING or EDUMATCHING projects, just after completing a school-based vocational qualification, with the available SECTOR-SPECIFIC, CROSS-NATIONAL EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITIES in EUROPE, offered by Companies based in structurally well-developed EU-regions.

The JOBMOBILITY VOCATIONAL EDUCATION and CAREER COACHING places a particular emphasis on STEM occupations (German: “MINT”) and BLUE-COLLAR JOBS.

EQUIVALENCE / RECOGNITION OF VOCATIONAL QUALIFICATIONS IN THE EU

JOBMOBILITY also imparts to its Project Participants knowledge on the CROSS-NATIONAL EQUIVALENCE / RECOGNITION of many school-based vocational qualifications in the SINGLE EUROPEAN MARKET, as EUROPEAN EDUCATIONAL AREA.

FREE MOVEMENT IN THE EU

The detailed presentation of the FREE MOVEMENT RIGHT for all young citizens of the EUROPEAN UNION plays a central part in the training modules offered. During the provision of the WEB-BASED JOBMOBILITY TRAINING MODULES, over a couple of months, the participants will be also introduced to relevant contents on social insurance, unemployment insurance and pension insurance in EUROPE.

INTERCULTURAL TRAINING

The provision of information on the different country-specific mentalities in EUROPE, as well as on different country-specific labour demand and bottleneck occupations, prospects and perspectives, is also part of the JOBMOBILITY TRAINING MODULES.

MULTILINGUAL DELIVERY

The web-based JOBMOBILITY VOCATIONAL EDUCATION AND CAREER COACHING within the framework of ongoing EUMATCHING or EDUMATCHING projects is delivered in multi-lingual mode.

WORKING CROSS-NATIONALLY, REDUCING THE RISK OF POVERTY AND SOCIAL MARGINALISATION

The EUROPEAN, CROSS-NATIONAL VOCATIONAL EDUCATION and CAREER COACHING – JOBMOBILITY, is intended to facilitate the CROSS-NATIONAL TRANSITION of the Participants in EUMATCHING or EDUMATCHING projects, originating from structurally weakly-developed EU regions, TO THE LABOUR MARKET in structurally well-developed EU regions, as well as to reduce their risk of social marginalization.

PROFILING OF PARTICIPANTS in EUMATCHING or EDUMATCHING projects, provided by EUCONTACT

The objective of EUCONTACT’s PROFILING is two-fold:

a) On the one hand, to learn about the personality, Emotional Intelligence (EQ) of the respective Participant in an EUMATCHING or EDUMATCHING project. By organizing a specific preparation of the Participants, it is intended to avoid the risk of dropping out during a cross-national work placement in a Company outside their own cultural space.

b) On the other hand, this should enable Companies participating in an EUMATCHING or EDUMATCHING project, design and implement a tailored ONBOARDING during a cross-national work placement in order to fit the needs of the international, European participants (trainees), the companies´ prospective young talent, in order to achieve the goal of a vocational qualification-specific recruitment of young people.

The focus laid here is neither on the evaluation of the suitability for the vocational qualification/occupation – hard skills – nor on occupational cognitive abilities, because the participants in EUMATCHING or EDUMATCHING projects have already chosen a profession/vocational qualification and are about to either obtain a Vocational Leaving Certificate or they are Recent Vocational Graduates, respectively they have graduated as Trained/Qualified Young Skilled Workers for a couple of years.

The focus is laid on understanding the Personality, the Soft Skills of the Participants (Trainees) and on assessing their Emotional Intelligence (EQ), since these aspects are crucial for their integration into a new team, outside their own cultural realm and country.

The PROFILING of the Participants in EUMATCHING or EDUMATCHING projects consists of several steps:

It starts with professional psychometric tests from the realm of work psychology, aiming to measure Emotional Intelligence/EQ, continuing with bespoke & structured, one-on-one individual discussions (1:1 between the Participants in EUMATCHING or EDUMATCHING projects and EUCONTACT Coaches) within the framework of Webinars (online), which then lead to Meetings in Presence Mode (Face-To-Face Meetings) in order to prime the young people for a successful participation in cross-national work placements with a prospective cross-national employment offer by Companies based in structurally welldeveloped EU regions, struggling with young talent and skilled labour shortage.
